I wrote this song in 2010 two years after my brother Ben died and started playing it with the band circa 2013. Live, it started going many fun new places, all the while still a great tune to play acoustically! Come 2016 we are ready to record an album. Mathew Becker sets up Studio Transplant after me and Jason drive to Brooklyn to pick up a studio! and drive it back to 363 Washington st. in Duxbury , MA. We recorded above my fathers garage for 10 days . Of course nothing goes as planned....... but we came out with the basics for 11 songs and some vocal and lead. We chose 5 of those songs to become our first EP ' Grace & Bile '. Ghostland was not one of the songs to go on the EP. But it always being a song very close to my soul I did not want it to fade away...the recording that is. I met up with Brendan Connors December 2019 and did all the vocals for the other 6 tracks we had not finished that have become 'Can't Behave in a Zoo...' and then started laying guitar tracks for this tune above my grammas barn, while I was working on her farm 2019-2022. Leaving the farm spring 2022 and coming back to MA. Chris came into 37' Productins studio in Rockland, MA and laid down some backing vocals and percussion. Brendan ran my guitar tracks I did on the farm back through much better amps and we got the knop and gnar! And some guitar rhythm tracks right there at 37' Productions as well! Enjoy...
